Risking your life while killing mobs in the outside world isn’t the only way to gain experience or items in RF Online. There are also alternatives we call “Battle Dungeons.”

Battle Dungeons are instanced PvE dungeons that players can jump into. They consist of varying objectives such as killing x amount of monsters before the timer runs out or just seeking out and destroying a Pit Boss. You will receive experience points for killing anything in your path, and an item upon completing the dungeon (automatically inserted into your bag). The best part is there is no experience points to lose when you die in a Battle Dungeon.

Battle Dungeon keys can be bought from the Sundries merchant in your HQ. However, there are 24 different variations of the Battle Dungeon to try, and are obtained as monster drops. Each of these BDs also come with a level restriction that must be respected, i.e. high level players cannot enter a low-level Battle Dungeon, and vice versa.

To open a key, you must find the Gate Keeper NPC in your HQ and talk to him. Then drag your Battle Dungeon key into the BD window, and click the “Create Gate” button. The gate will only remain open for a few seconds so make sure your party enters quickly!

The Darkhole dungeon is unique from the rest of the dungeons. It consists of several arenas, and players must clear one arena to move on to the next. Each arena will require players to complete a certain quest to move on – this may be killing monsters, finding items, or slaying pitbosses. Whatever the objective may be, it will require a great amount of effort, teamwork, and practice to successfully complete the Darkhole dungeon.

To open a Darkhole key, you must find the Gate Keeper NPC in your HQ and talk to him. Then drag your Darkhole key into the BD window, and click the “Create Gate” button. The gate will only remain open for a few seconds so make sure your party enters quickly!

To enter the Darkhole dungeon, you must be at least level 40.
